Unintended Side Effect?

So, I cannot tell you why...yet. But I can tell you that “something” has changed in Internet Explorer that is effecting (or is it affecting) many of the SharePoint implementations I have done. Maybe it is a recent IE Service Pack, I honestly don't know. But I noticed about three weeks ago that a portal that I visit all the time was centered. I also noticed that the “Modify Shared Page” link did not work either.

How many California Psychologists does it take to change SharePoint? Just one, but SharePoint must WANT to change.

After a little testing I discovered that the only difference between my “normal” portals and the centered one was that I did not have the centered portal in my TRUSTED SITES list. As soon as I added the portal URL everything aligned properly and the menu began working.

Recently I have been contacted by coworkers and clients with the same issue on many portals so I thought I would create this post to see who else is having this problem, or better have somebody tell me that it is a service pack issue.

Now if I can just figure out why the search box does this from time to time...
